Kenmerken:
De 'ABT16373A zijn 16-bits transparante D-type laches met 3-state uitgangen, speciaal ontworpen voor het aansturen van sterk capacitieve of relatief laag-ohmse belastingen. Ze zijn bijzonder geschikt voor het implementeren van bufferregisters, I/O-poorten, bidirectionele busdrivers en werkregisters.
Deze apparaten kunnen worden gebruikt als twee 8-bits laches of één 16-bits lache. Wanneer de lache-enable (LE) ingang hoog is, volgen de Q-uitgangen de data (D) ingangen. Wanneer LE laag wordt gemaakt, worden de Q-uitgangen vastgezet op de niveaus die op de D-ingangen zijn ingesteld.
Een gebufferde output-enable (OE) ingang kan worden gebruikt om de acht uitgangen in een normale logische toestand (hoge of lage logische niveaus) of een hoog-impedantie toestand te plaatsen. In de hoog-impedantie toestand belasten of sturen de uitgangen de buslijnen niet significant. De hoog-impedantie toestand en de verhoogde drive bieden de mogelijkheid om buslijnen aan te sturen zonder de noodzaak van interface- of pull-up componenten.
OE heeft geen invloed op de interne werking van de lache. Oude data kunnen worden behouden of nieuwe data kunnen worden ingevoerd terwijl de uitgangen zich in de hoog-impedantie toestand bevinden.
Wanneer VCC tussen 0 en 2,1 V ligt, bevindt het apparaat zich tijdens het opstarten of uitschakelen in de hoog-impedantie toestand. Om de hoog-impedantie toestand boven 2,1 V te garanderen, moet OE echter via een pull-up weerstand aan VCC worden gekoppeld; de minimale waarde van de weerstand wordt bepaald door het stroomafvoervermogen van de driver.
De SN54ABT16373A is gekarakteriseerd voor werking over het volledige militaire temperatuurbereik van -55°C tot 125°C. De SN74ABT16373A is gekarakteriseerd voor werking van -40°C tot 85°C.
