Esses dispositivos podem ser usados como dois trancos de 8 bits ou um tranco de 16 bits. Quando a entrada habilitada para tranca (LE) é alta, as saídas Q seguem as entradas de dados (D). Quando o LE é reduzido, o Q é liberado.as saídas Q são bloqueadas nos níveis definidos nas entradas D.
