Cette bascule D à déclenchement par front 16 bits est opérationnelle de 0,8 V à 2,7 V VCC, mais est spécifiquement conçue pour une utilisation de 1,65 V à 1,95 V VCC.
Le SN74AUC16374 est particulièrement adapté à la mise en œuvre de registres tampons, de ports d'E/S, de pilotes de bus bidirectionnels et de registres de travail. Il peut être utilisé comme deux bascules 8 bits ou une bascule 16 bits. Lors de la transition positive de l'entrée d'horloge (CLK), les sorties Q de la bascule prennent les niveaux logiques définis sur les entrées de données (D).
Une entrée d'activation de sortie (OE) tamponnée peut être utilisée pour placer les huit sorties dans un état logique normal (niveaux logiques haut ou bas) ou dans l'état de haute impédance. Dans l'état de haute impédance, les sorties ne chargent ni ne pilotent significativement les lignes de bus. L'état de haute impédance et la capacité de pilotage accrue offrent la possibilité de piloter les lignes de bus sans composants d'interface ou de tirage vers le haut.
OE n'affecte pas les opérations internes du verrou. Les anciennes données peuvent être conservées ou de nouvelles données peuvent être entrées pendant que les sorties sont dans l'état de haute impédance.
Pour garantir l'état de haute impédance lors de la mise sous tension ou hors tension, OE doit être relié à VCC via une résistance de tirage vers le haut ; la valeur minimale de la résistance est déterminée par la capacité de courant de charge du pilote.
Ce dispositif est entièrement spécifié pour les applications de mise hors tension partielle utilisant Ioff. Le circuit Ioff désactive les sorties, empêchant un retour de courant dommageable à travers le dispositif lorsqu'il est hors tension.
